Celebrating Greg: From Day One to Today
At Koiop Connect, we believe progress looks different for everyone. Since joining Koiop Connect in 2024, Greg has done exactly that.
From day one, Greg has continued to challenge himself, build his skills and explore new ways to grow his independence. He has enrolled in a number of TAFE courses, joined a gym, obtained his boat licence and taken every opportunity to keep learning and developing.
But one of the most meaningful parts of Greg’s journey has been the influence he has had on the people around him.
His willingness to get involved and try new things has encouraged other participants to do the same, whether that’s looking after himself through a healthy lifestyle, learning new skills, or connecting with the Awabakal Men’s Group. Greg’s progress hasn’t just opened doors for him, it has helped inspire others to explore what might be possible for them too.

Turning determination into opportunity
Greg approaches his personal development with determination, ingenuity and a strong work ethic. Rather than standing still, he continues to take on new challenges, build practical skills and look for opportunities to put them into action.
All of that hard work has led to an exciting new chapter.
Greg has joined the Pier Ninty Seven and Flatfish Cafe team as their Handyman.
For Greg, this milestone represents more than simply getting a job. It reflects the confidence, skills and independence he has built along the way.
It is the result of backing himself, stepping outside his comfort zone and continuing to work towards what comes next.
Today, Greg is putting those skills into practice as a valued member of the Pier Ninety Seven team, taking on responsibility and continuing to grow through real-world experience.
More than a milestone
Employment can create opportunities for greater independence, connection, purpose and confidence, but the journey towards it is just as important.
Greg’s story is a reminder of what can happen when people are supported to explore their interests, develop their strengths and pursue opportunities that are meaningful to them.
We’re incredibly proud to have walked alongside Greg throughout his journey so far, and we can’t wait to see where he takes it next.
