Built on Connection

Our journey began working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across the Hunter and Western regions, where we saw firsthand the importance of culturally safe, respectful, and community-led support.

It wasn’t just about delivering services, it was about building trust, strengthening relationships, and creating a genuine sense of belonging.

Our Story

'Koiop' means Dragonfly in Meriam Language of the Torres Strait Islands. It signifies change and the perspective of self-realisation. Koiop reflects a deep meaning and understanding of life through mental and emotional maturity.

Koiop Connect aims to inspire this meaning by working with clients and embracing their culture.

Our Team

Our Vision

As we’ve grown, so has our vision.

Today, we continue to provide support for people from all backgrounds while staying grounded in the values that have shaped us. We believe everyone deserves support that is safe, inclusive, and empowering, no matter who they are or where they come from.

Our Mission

To provide inclusive, culturally respectful, and empowering support services that strengthen independence, enhance quality of life, and foster connection across all communities.

We’re driven by the ability to improve the lives of others.

Connected to the Community

Growth & Transformation

Creating Opportunities of Growth Through Employment

Nestled along Wickham Harbour, Koiop Connect is proudly partnered with local favourite Flatfish Café. Together, we work collaboratively to create meaningful opportunities for participant growth, including pathways into employment.

Flatfish Café is also a popular spot for our participants and support workers to connect. It’s a place to enjoy a great meal of fish and chips while taking in the scenic waterfront views.

We are here to walk alongside people, not in front of them. To listen, to understand, and to create support that is tailored, personal, and real.
