Thank You for Being All In with Koiop Connect

As National Reconciliation Week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to thank everyone who joined Koiop Connect in acknowledging this important week.

Whether you attended our event, participated in conversations, shared stories, listened, learned, or simply took time to reflect, thank you for being part of the journey.

As an Aboriginal-owned organisation, National Reconciliation Week holds deep significance for Koiop Connect. It is an opportunity to come together, strengthen relationships, and consider how we can all contribute to a future grounded in respect, understanding, and shared responsibility.

This year's theme, All In, served as a powerful reminder that reconciliation requires more than good intentions. It calls on the broader community to come together and actively participate in creating meaningful change through action, accountability, courage, and a willingness to walk alongside one another.

During our National Reconciliation Week morning tea, Managing Director, Tareka, spoke about the importance of moving beyond the sidelines, creating opportunities that propel us forward, and recognising that reconciliation belongs to all of us. A symbolic milestone for Koiop Connect was the introducing the community to their refreshed and revitalised brand and digital look. Hosted against the stunning backdrop of Wickham Harbour, Pier Ninety Seven complemented the occasion with a thoughtfully curated Indigenous-inspired menu.

"‘All In’ is a call for all Australians to commit with intentionality to reconciliation every single day. It reminds us that meaningful change requires action, accountability, courage and a willingness to walk alongside each other."

Tareka Whaleboat, Managing Director

For many years, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have carried much of the responsibility for leading conversations around reconciliation. The All In theme challenged us all to consider how we can contribute to that journey and what role we each play in building stronger relationships and communities.

Seeing people come together to listen, learn, ask questions, share perspectives, and engage in meaningful conversations reinforced something we strongly believe at Koiop Connect: positive change happens when people are willing to show up.

"Reconciliation is not a destination. It is an ongoing commitment. A commitment to truth-telling. A commitment to listening and learning. A commitment to building relationships. And a commitment to creating a future grounded in respect, understanding and shared responsibility."

Tareka Whaleboat, Managing Director

While National Reconciliation Week may be over, the work of reconciliation continues.

At Koiop Connect, reconciliation is not something we acknowledge for one week each year. It is reflected in the way we work, the relationships we build, and our commitment to creating culturally respectful and inclusive environments for our participants, staff and communities.

Thank you again to everyone who joined us for our Reconciliation Week morning tea and celebrated the launch of our new brand. Your presence, participation and willingness to be part of the conversation help create meaningful change.

Together, we can continue building a future founded on connection, understanding and respect.Together, we can continue being All In.
